Description:

Produced between 1926 and 1929, the 1926 Export is noted as being among the best finished of all of Sauer's handgun output, with author Jim Cate in his reference "Sauer & Sohn Volume II" speculating that it was made as such in response to Sauer's 175th anniversary. Also of relevance to Cate, this pistol comes with a signed note from him, where he identifies this pistol by serial number as his former property. The note goes into detail on the 1926 as a whole, commenting that very few boxed 1926 pistols are known, and very few made it to America. On the specific item, it is described as "totally mint. . . May well be unfired". Fixed sights, address atop barrel reading "J.P. SAUER & SON, SUHL" in front of the Suhl knight, "CAL. 7,65." on the left and "PATENT" on the right, with a fine niter blue safety switch and checkered grips with "Sauer./Cal. 7,65" imprints. The box is gold in color, with black Sauer text on the lid, a matching serial number on the side, an extra magazine inside and a Sauer manual with a W. Glaser label on the cover.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 99% of the bright original high polish blue finish, showing some handling marks. A few light scratches are present on the grips, which are sharply checkered. The box is very good, with scuffing and a few areas of tape repair. Mechanically excellent.
