Description:

Manufactured in 1942. Blade front and "S" marked two-leaf rear sights, with an undated blued "WP" barrel, Type I barrel band, "W" recoil plate, flat bolt, "88" marked milled trigger guard, unmarked button safety, early pattern detachable operating rod spring housing, "*W*" magazine catch and a blued "BW" marked magazine. High wood stock with a two-rivet handguard, marked with "crossed cannons" and "W.R.A./G.H.D." on the right side, with an "I" oiler cut and an original U.S. WWII tan/khaki canvas web sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% of the original combination blue and parkerized finish, with a mixed gray and brown color on the front sight, mild cycling wear on the bolt and receiver, and mild handling marks overall. A small, barley noticeable patch of pitting is present on the left side of the receiver just above the stock, The stock is very fine, with crisp markings, mild scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
