This was a lower cost version of the Model 41 and was developed for the U.S. Air Force in 1959. This particular pistol is fitted with the 7 inch barrel, raised ramp front sight and adjustable rear target sight. The left side of the frame above the trigger is marked with the serial number followed by "U.S.". The remaining markings are standard. The trigger is serrated and the grips are wrap around with checkering and thumb and finger rests. The Model 46 was discontinued in 1968 after approximately 4,000 were produced.
