This carbine shows the standard markings and features of Winchester's first commemorative that was released in 1964; of which only 1,500 were manufactured. This example was retained by the factory as it was an accidental serial number duplicate, with an "X" suffix being added to its standard serial number. There is a factory collection display tag on the buttstock featuring information about the commemorative series. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.
