Manufactured in 1891 as a third model with integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated rear edge. Blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights, standard Winchester markings, and smooth straight grip stock fitted with a crescent buttplate. The included Cody Firearms Records Office research request confirms the current configuration as well as receipt at the warehouse on 10 March 1891 and shipment on 13 March 1891 in order number 1726.

Fine, retains 40% plus original blue finish mixed with attractive plum-brown patina over most of the surfaces and 30% original nitre blue on the loading gate with the balance a bright grey patina at the muzzle and edges. The wood is also fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
