U.S. Inspected Army Contract Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver

Manufactured in 1857 under contract with the U.S. Ordnance Department. It has a brass post front sight, "-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.-" on top of the barrel, the standard cylinder scene, "COLTS/PATENT/U.S." on the left side of the frame, "M" on the left side of the trigger guard, and matching serial numbers. This revolver is just 12 digits away from the next lot.

ConditionFair with heavy wear overall including heavy dings concentrated on the barrel forcing cone, aged patina on the brass, mostly dark brown patina on the steel, mild pitting, faded cylinder scene, replaced wedge screw, absent wedge spring, and distinct remaining markings. The refinished grip is fine and has outlines of the cartouches, chips at the lower edges, and mild scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
