Excellent Civil War American Machine Works Smith Patent Breech Loading Percussion Carbine

Nearly all of the Smith carbines manufactured were issued to Union cavalry units and saw hard use during the Civil War. It has the standard markings and features, a "LFR" inspection mark on the left at the breech, and a crisp "JH" cartouche on the left side of the wrist.

ConditionExcellent with 90% plus of the original blue and casehardened finish, some slight fading on the barrel and band, and generally only some minor handling and storage type marks overall. The wood is very fine with some chipping at the toe and a few light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
