DLO Manufactured Browning 1919A4 General Purpose Machine Gun, Class III/NFA Registered Transferrable Machine Gun, with Field Mount

Built from a combination of new-made and military surplus components by Douglas Laurence Oefinger of Stamford, Connecticut, this is a fully functional Browning Model 1919A4 Machine Gun outfitted as an infantry weapon and marked in the style of a WWII-production gun from the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors. A direct descendant of the Browning Model 1917 water-cooled machine gun, the 1919 was a lightweight and versatile machine gun, which was a primary weapon for all branches of the American armed forces during World War II and beyond. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, long ventilated heat shield around the barrel and Saginaw/DLO nomenclature markings on the right side plate. A swiveling pintle is mounted at the front of the receiver and a traverse & elevation mechanism at the rear, with a checkered pistol grip. Included with the 1919 is a gray painted folding field mount, an extra barrel, and a tan canvas spare barrel case. The top of the breech block/bolt is stamped "7.62" and the gauge is corrected to be 7.62 NATO (308).

ConditionVery fine, with 95% of the original matte gray finish, showing some light wear, and handling marks. Some mild spotting is present, concentrated on the left side of the top cover and heat shield, the latter showing patches of what may be storage or packing material. The carrying handle is cracked, with mild scuffing and dents on the pistol grip. Mechanically very good. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
