According to "Flayderman's Guide," this carbine is one of only 61 Model 93 Trappers with a 15 inch barrel manufactured by Marlin. The accompanying Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms letter states this carbine has been removed from the purview of the National Firearms Act and classified as a curio and relic. The ATF letter lists this carbine by serial number, caliber and factory fitted 15 inch barrel. Other features include carbine sights, carbine stock with correct type of buttplate, "MARLIN SAFETY" marked on top of the receiver, "Marlin/MODEL '93" marked on the upper tang and the two-line address/patent date barrel marking stamped above "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL." Note the carbine was ordered without the standard saddle ring.
