Very fine, retaining 85% plus thinning original blue finish on barrel and magazine tube. The loading gate retains 70% original nitre blue. Patterns of original case colors remain on the buttplate. The remaining surfaces retain 75% vivid original case colors with extensive dings and dents visible on bottom forward frame and takedown ring. The wood is also very fine with scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. A highly attractive Marlin Model 1893 rifle. Provenance: The Doug Ellison Collection
