Offered here is a factory engraved New Model No. 3 revolver as embellished by renowned Master Engraver Oscar Young. Young's characteristic floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background covers around 40% of the surface. This is a later production example with the long strap. Later production revolvers had a longer top strap and cylinder. The cylinder was lengthened from 1 7/16 inches to 1 9/16 inches. The left side of the barrel has the caliber marking "44 S&W CTG." Caliber marked New Model No. 3s are rarely encountered. Adding to its rarity is the blue finish which is far more rare than nickel plating for the New Model No. 3 series. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch.
