The rifled, two-stage, brass barrel is signed "AAW" for former Colt Master Engraver Alvin A. White regarded as "the dean of American arms engravers" and one of the greatest traditional engravers of all time. He is best remembered for engraved Colt revolvers, but White was also a lover of antiques and the arts, and they influenced his engraving. The barrel also has a small post front sight, and a notch rear sight is on the upper tang which is engraved. The lock has borders but is otherwise plain. The silver-plated brass furniture has light border engraving and a few folk-art style floral blooms in the style of some surviving original American flintlock pistols.
