All serial numbers are matching. The sub-inspector marks "R" and "M" are stamped on the left side of the grip frame, and military acceptance marks "H" and "W" are located in several places. The "M" is for M. Moulton and the "H" is for Benjamin Hannis; both men were armory sub-inspectors for the military contract.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 25% original blue remaining on the barrel and loading lever, a few traces of original finish on the other components, mix of gray and brown patina and some minor oxidation/pitting on the balance, distinct markings, and general mild wear including some marks on the cylinder. The trigger is a modern replacement. The refinished grips are good and have a repaired chip on the left at the toe, smaller chip at the toe on the right, mild lower edge wear, and general minor scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
