The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 6 inch barrel, Patridge front sight, blue finish and checkered walnut extension gold medallion target grips as part of a 490 unit shipment of this model (serial numbers 207926-208415) on February 19, 1914 and delivered to S&W dealer M.W. Robinson Co. of New York City. The left grip panel has the number "2398" on the bottom, "SKIPPER" is inscribed on the bottom of the right grip panel, Lyman beaded blade front sight, and the rear sight is a replacement. Matching serial numbers are on the front grip strap, back of right grip panel (in pencil), cylinder and barrel.
