The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 6 1/2 inch barrel in .44 S&W Russian, blue finish, butt swivel and checkered black hard rubber grips when shipped on August 12, 1896, and delivered to Takata & Co., Yokohama, Japan, agents for the Japanese government. Most of the imported revolvers were issued to the Imperial Navy. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, cylinder, barrel latch and barrel.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 70% plus original blue finish with thinning to brown high edge wear on the balance, minor scratches and smooth gray patina on the grip straps. 40% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are excellent with minimal handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
