Description:

Manufactured in 1913, this early pattern military Luger left Erfurt without a stock lug or hold-open device, with the latter being arsenal retrofitted at a later time. Fixed sights, with "1913" on the extension, "crown/ERFURT" on the front toggle link, and Imperial German proofs overall. A small stamp has been applied to the right side of the frame, to indicate approval of the hold-open installation. Fine straw finish is present on the small parts, with niter blue pins and screws, checkered grips, and a nickel finished magazine with a hardwood base. Matching numbers are present overall, including on the hold-open (upside-down), the inside of both grip panels, and the magazine. With a brown leather holster, marked "STECHER/FREIBERG" on the body beneath the flap and with a faint hand marking inside the flap.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear, scattered small areas of gray patina and mild spotting concentrated on the grip straps. 70% of the original straw colors are present, showing some bright wear, and strong niter blue is present in the protected areas. The grips are also excellent, with some nicks visible on the checkering points. The holster is fine, with some scuffing and wear. Mechanically excellent.
