Blade and notch sights, with the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel, scroll engraving on the right side, gold accent on the ejector housing and a gold eagle with shield clutching a banner marked "JOHN WAYNE". The cylinder has gold rope designs on each end, with a gold accented scene of Wayne on horseback on one side and a portrait shot backed by the American flag on the reverse. Light scroll engraving on the frame, with the back strap signed in gold with the Red River brand near the hammer. According to the included factory letter, this revolver was produced in 1982 as part of the John Wayne Commemorative series, and retained by the factory until it was released in October 2008. All features are confirmed by this letter. Comes with a Colt "wood grain" box (label absent).

Excellent overall, 99% original blue, with a few minor scratches and handling marks and attractive grain on the grips. The box is fine with some minor wear.
