This is a WWII M1903A4 sniper rifle as manufactured by Remington Arms Company in the first block of serial numbers. The barrel stamped "R.A./flaming bomb/9-43" that correctly lacks the front sight. Receiver is marked: "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" on the left side and "3422835" on the right. It has an original 1903A4 Remington sniper rifle bolt, stamped "R" on the underside of the bolt handle. The receiver is fitted with a correct square end, Redfield marked scope base with shims under the front portion. Correct WWII production, stamped steel barrel bands, trigger guard and buttplate. It is fitted with a correct military model Weaver M73B1 sniper scope with an all blued finish. The nomenclature plate is stamped in five lines with Weaver M73B1 and the factory address, and the lower right side is marked "SERIAL No. 18521". The scope has the standard cross-hair reticle. The rifle is fitted with a wartime scant grip walnut stock stamped on the left side with "RA/Cross-Cannon proof/FJA" and a boxed "RIA/EB" Rock Island Arsenal rebuilt cartouche on the left side of the butt. It is correctly stamped with the various subinspectors stamps on front of the trigger guard and a small circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area. It has an all gray/green parkerized finish.
