Description:

Manufactured 1943-1944, the receiver of this carbine features the standard Winchester markings with an "AW" on the heel, indicating a carbine made using a receiver that was started by Underwood and transferred to Winchester as surplus. Blade front and "H in shield" marked adjustable rear sights, with the "W" mark on the undated barrel, recoil plate and hammer, unmarked Type II barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard, and an "EW" button safety and magazine catch. Flat-bottomed low-wood stock, with a 4-rivet handguard, Ordnance "crossed cannons" on the right side, oval oiler cut, and a checkered buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% of the original parkerized finish, showing some areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The stock is very fine, with some light scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
