Manufactured in 1916, with a Springfield "3-16" barrel, hooded blade front and folding ladder rear sights, excellent replacement trigger guard assembly, and a straight handled bolt. The finger groove pattern walnut stock is "J.S.A."/"circle"/"P" inspected, with a tan canvas Nobuckl-brand sling, sharp checkered steel buttplate, and a professionally made modern hardwood spare parts container in the butt trap complete with an original extractor, firing pin and cocking knob. Many of the 1903 rifles so configured were either refitted to later specifications, used to destruction on the Western Front and other areas of service, or both.
