This is an excellent example of a commercial DWM Model 1906 American Eagle Luger. This type of Luger was made for export to the United States, and they are some of the best Lugers ever produced by the DWM factory. They have excellent fit and finish with beautiful high polished blue finish and straw colors on the smaller components. The model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver, the 4 3/4 inch tapered barrel, the top of the chamber area marked with the large American Eagle crest and the DWM logo on the front toggle. It has the early "Crown, B, U and G" proofs on the underside of the barrel and the left side barrel extension, all are weak but clear. The breechblock is also marked with the "Crown, B and U" proofs. The front end of the frame is marked with the full serial number over "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. It has the matching last two digits of the serial number in the various other parts. The pistol is fitted with a set of dark European checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a correct magazine that has a nickel-plated body with a unmarked wooden base.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue overall. The restrawed parts have 98% finish. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice sharp distinct checkering with one small light pressure dent on the lower left side grip. Mechanically excellent.
