Developed in Italy. The BM59 was designed with many of the same considerations in mind as the American M14, specifically an infantry rifle that fed 7.62x51 NATO ammunition from a detachable magazine. With this low of a serial number, this receiver was likely part of the first year of production. Fixed front and adjustable peep rear sights, with an integral grenade launching muzzle, flip-up grenade sight, and a folding bipod on the gas tube . The receiver is fitted with a flip-down winter trigger, and has Springfield Armory import marks. Walnut pistol grip stock with grasping grooves and rubber buttpad. With storage box, manual, and Allen wrench.

Excellent with 95% plus original parkerized finish, some light edge wear, and handling marks overall. The stock is very good with freshened varnish finish, some small dings, and mild discoloration. Mechanically excellent. Box is about good with handling and storage wear overall.
