Exceptional U.S. Remington Model 1871 Army Rolling Block Pistol

Only around 6,000 of these pistols were manufactured in the 1870s and 1880s for the U.S. Army. They were inspected by Curtis R. Stickney whose initials are on the left side of the grip. The "P S" marked on the left side of the frame also stand for "Proofed" and "Stickney." The matching serial number is on the upper tang and inside the grip, and the assembly number "5120" is also on the grip straps. It has the standard sights.

ConditionExcellent overall with 85% plus original blue finish, 98% plus vivid original case colors, mostly bright breech block and hammer, 90% original niter blue and straw colors and excellent wood, crisp cartouche with some dings on the butt. Mechanically excellent.
