Famars shotguns are among the finest in the world and were available on a custom order basis only. The company ceased production in 2012. This shotgun features a rounded box lock action. The action, trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware are very nicely engraved with fine highly detailed scroll patterns and contrasting darkened backgrounds. Each side of the action has "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI" inlaid in gold in a banner. The area to the right just forward of the trigger guard is signed "D. Volpi". The serial number is engraved in a banner on the lower tang, and the matching serial number is marked on the water table, barrel flat and on the forearm hardware. The side of the left barrel near the breech is marked "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI," and the forearm shoe is inscribed "Poseidon" with fine gold lettering. Single bead sight on the matte solid rib, 3 inch chambers, improved modified/full chokes, and ejectors. Blue barrels, satin grey remaining metal surfaces, single non-selective trigger, tang mounted manual safety and mounted with a very nicely figured multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered bare butt. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .627/.626 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .042/.042 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 1 5/8 inches; length of pull 15 inches.
