Description:

This is an excellent WWII production U.S. Army contract Stevens Model 620 trench shotgun, which is one of the more desirable and highly sought U.S. WWII Military trench shotguns. This one was the later improved version of the original 520 Trench shotguns that had the redesigned "rounded back" receiver, similar to the Model 12 trench shotguns, making this a much stronger and safer trench shotgun. This model was used by both the U.S. Army and Marines during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The barrel has the three-line factory address/markings, and a single "P" firing proof over a small Ordnance Shell and Flame acceptance proof is at the breech. The left of the barrel side is marked: "PROOF TESTED-12 GAUGE/-2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER-". The barrel correctly gauges as a cylinder bore at the muzzle. The barrel has the correct WWII Stevens six-hole heat shield/bayonet lug that has the correct purplish tint to the metal due to its alloy construction, with the capital "S" stamped on the left side of the bayonet lug. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a "P" firing proof over the Ordnance Corp Shell and Flame proof followed by "MODEL 620" with the "U.S." farther back on the receiver. It is fitted with a walnut pump handle and buttstock with a black plastic buttplate. There is a single bale type sling swivel attached to the bayonet lug and another one correctly mounted on the lower toe area of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue finish overall, high spot wear, and a light thinning blue finish on the sides of the receiver. The magazine tube also shows some minor blue loss due to cycling of the action. The pump handle and buttstock are both in excellent condition with a nice medium brown color overall and only a couple of very minor pressure dents on the right side. The markings are clear and sharp.
