Description:

Manufactured in Germany, the Visar scope was one of the models adopted for Imperial Germany's early snipers, mated with a Gewehr 98 rifle, typically with a set of partially offset double-claw mounts. Few of these vintage sniper scopes can be found in decent condition; in event of possible capture, many snipers would discard their gear ASAP, out of fear of retaliation from enemy forces. Constructed from blue steel, the scope body is marked "EMIL BUSCH A-G/RATHENOW/ "VISAR" 2 3/4x/Gewehr No. 7363/d" on the top, with an in-line front claw set and a left-offset rear claw with windage adjustments, leather lens protectors, and a 1-10 graduated vertical adjustment knob for the four-post reticle. With a belt case, metal construction with leather fittings, stamped with a matching maker's mark and rifle number on the leather cap.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 97% original blue finish overall and minor wear/staining on the lens protectors. The case shows mild scuffing and wear. Optics are crisp.
