Description:

Manufactured by the firm of V. Charles Schilling of Suhl, the Bergmann was developed in the mid 1890s, improved upon by Louis Schmeisser, and was produced in limited numbers. With blade front and notch rear sights, German "crown/crown/U" proofs, the Schilling "mountain man" logo on the right side of the frame, and a series of numbers on the individual components to denote order of disassembly. Fitted with a straw finished trigger and hammer, niter blue safety, and checkered hardwood grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus original blue finish, clear markings, areas of some light edge wear, light surface scratches visible on the left side of the frame, and mild brown patina on the grip straps. 80% bright original straw colors on small parts, 70% original nitre blue on safety lever The grips are also excellent with mostly well defined checkering and some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
