This is a nice example of an early WWII German Luger pistol as manufactured by the Mauser factory. The top of the chamber is marked "1939" for the year of manufacture and the top of the toggle is marked "42", the wartime code for Mauser. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early double "Eagle/ 655" Waffenamt proof with a single winged eagle firing proof. The extractor and safety area are marked "Geladen" and "Gesichert" respectively. The grips are finely checkered walnut, and the magazine has no markings on the blued body. "4251/x/+/Eagle/655" is marked on the aluminum base. The black leather flap holster is numbered to the gun on the front under the flap and on the inside of the flap. "C. WEISS/BRAUNSCHWEIG" is marked in a circle on the back, along with "Eagle/WaA750", "1939", and "SLEAD" (the last hand marked). Includes a takedown tool marked "Eagle/655", and an extra matching magazine marked "4251/x/Eagle/655".
