Description:

Introduced in the 1930s, the "plane tree" camo pattern was one of the longest running designs in the SS camouflage arsenal, technically predating the organization of the SS's paramilitary formations into the Waffen-SS. Construction is double sided and fully reversible, with the main body constructed from three panels, showing the predominately green and brown "spring" colors on one side and the predominately brown and tan "autumn" colors on the reverse. In operation, a heavily reinforced lip catches the brim of the helmet, with a set of three spring-loaded anodized aluminum hooks catch the side and rear edges. This particular cover is noted as having been procured from Michael Beaver, noted author on German camouflage and Waffen-SS combat gear.

Rating Definition:

Good overall, showing mild wear and staining overall. Some minor tears and holes are present, possibly field damage from the period of service. All three spring hooks are in good order.
