Smith & Wesson Number 1 1/2 2nd Issue Revolver with Rare Short Barrel

Manufactured from 1868 to 1875. The rare short 2 5/8 inch barrel has the correct one-line address/patent dates marking on the left side (standard length barrels featured the marking on the rib). Right grip panel numbered to gun. Matching assembly "T8" mark on grip frame and barrel. Cylinder has the number "25".

ConditionVery fine, retaining 85% original nickel finish mixed with areas of gray patina and a spot of cleaned pitting on the cylinder. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are fine with high edge wear and minor handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
