This musket was manufactured for the second contract. The chamber is marked "U.S.N./[anchor]/No 16551/-J.N.J.-" The left side of the receiver has the two-line address/patent marking. Fine, retaining 50% original blue finish with the balance thinning to brown. The lightly sanded and re-oiled stock is very good with some minor handling marks. The markings are crisp. Mechanically excellent.
