Manufactured in 1881 as a Second Model with screw-fastened dust cover rail and dust cover with serrations at the rear. Standard markings, blade front and elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sights, and a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent trapdoor buttplate containing a four-piece cleaning rod.

Very good, retains 30% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth grey patina. The reoiled wood has minor dings and scratches scattered throughout and a few minor chips in the forearm. Mechanically excellent.
