Manufactured in 1926 and subsequently beautifully professionally embellished. The entire rifle is finished blue. 4 1/2 inches at the muzzle end of the barrel and 2 inches at the breech end of the barrel are decorated with floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background. Each end of the barrel has a gold and a silver inlaid wire around the barrel. The receiver, takedown ring, , hammer sides, lever and forend cap are decorated with floral scroll and punch dot engraving with gold wire inlaid bordering and accents. The sides of the lever also have a gold inlaid floral vine design. In addition the left side of the receiver has a wooded scene with a gold inlaid hunter and two gold inlaid bucks and the right side has a gold inlaid bear in a mountain scene. Behind the bear is signed "L. SHERMAN". The standard barrel markings are on both sides of the breech end, the Winchester oval proof appears on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. The upper tang is marked with the three line maker/model/made in U.S.A. marking. In addition there is a British "crown/BNP" on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle end and on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted with a custom leafy vine and punch dot carved walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a skeletonized engraved and gold wire inlaid cap and steel serrated shotgun buttplate. There is a sling swivel eye on the forend cap and on the stock.

Very fine as master embellished. 99% plus blue finish and gold inlay remains. The otherwise very fine stock shows a slight gap at the wrist and front of the receiver. The carving remains sharp. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
