Excellent U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle with Bayonet

Manufactured in 1889. Standard markings and features. "SWP/1889" cartouches. Includes a "US" marked socket bayonet and scabbard with "US" marked frog.

ConditionExcellent, retains 97% plus original blue finish with some mild loss on the buttplate and 60% original case colors with the balance a smooth grey patina. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered minor dings and scratches and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very good with some light spotting, the scabbard shows a mostly brown patina, and the frog is fine with moderate wear.
