Description:

Approximately 75,000 to 100,000 of these rifle-muskets were manufactured by Colt during the Civil War loosely based on the British Pattern 1853 "Enfield" rifle-muskets. This "1864" dated rifle-musket has the standard markings and features including "2402 M.N.M" stamped on the left of the barrel at the breech, "AM" on the buttplate, and "2402 stamped on the left of the buttstock. Includes a "US" marked socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing mostly bright with some scattered light speckling of darker brown or grey patina, some light flash pitting on the bolster and breech, and some mild pitting on the buttplate. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is very good with some scattered minor dings and scratches, and visible cartouches/markings. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very fine with minimal wear.
