Manufactured in 1881. Blue, twist pattern Damascus steel, dovetail lump barrels with single brass bead sight on the smooth concave rib marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.", chambers measured at 2 3/4 inches with single large extractor, standard markings on the flats, and modified/modified chokes. Casehardened receiver and locks with dual triggers and knurled hammer spurs. The locks are marked "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co." in fancy font and the locks and receiver feature American style scroll engraving with wedges and flourishes. The trigger guard, hammers, and tang are engraved to match. Checkered walnut, round knob pistol grip stock and forearm with matching engraved fittings, blank initial oval, and checkered hard rubber, Rampant Colt buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .778/.778; choke constriction .021/.022; minimum wall thickness .044/.051; drop at comb 2 1/4 inches; drop at heel 3 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/8 inches.

Exceptionally fine with 80% plus strong Damascus pattern on the barrels, crisp markings on the rib, some small dings on the rib edges, and scattered light surface scratches. The receiver and locks have 85% original vibrant case colors with sharp engraving, some minor edge wear, scratches, and 60% bright blue mixed with brown/blue patina on the trigger guard. The wood is excellent with well defined, sharp checkering, small dings throughout, and a small surface chip behind the left lock. Mechanically excellent.
