Engraved Pair of French Empire Style Flintlock Pistols

A) Flintlock Pistol

The pistols have three "L-C" markings on the upper barrel flats (possible LeClerc) at the breech and also have "541" (B) and "542" (A) inventory markings on the left stock flats. "J REY" is marked on the bottom right of the barrels at the breech, and there are also obscured proofs at the breech. They have smooth bores, fixed blade and notch sights, French Empire style engraving on the locks and furniture, raised carving at the upper tangs, and checkered wrists.

ConditionVery good with gray and brown patina throughout, some light pitting, general mild wear, and distinct engraving. The stock is good and has mild wear on the otherwise crisp checkering, chipping on the left edge of the pommel, minor cracks at the rear lock screw and forend tip, and dings and scratches. The ramrod is an oversize replacement. Mechanically fine.
