Manufactured in May of 1942 and subsequently upgraded to M1D Sniper configuration. Blade front and peep rear sights, with "DRC" windage drum and a Springfield "S A 11 52" barrel with integral scope base. Internal components include a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety and relief cut operating rod. The right front receiver leg is marked "TE/4-69", for Toole Arsenal. The hardwood stock is "P" and "SA" marked, with a checkered steel buttplate and a set of screw holes drilled (but not tapped/threaded) in the underside. Included with the rifle is a brown shipping box is a number of accessories in wrapping (some still depot sealed), including a flash hider, cheekpiece, scope case, sling, cleaning tools and a scope (identified on the sealed package as a M84).
