Manufactured in 1944 and featuring a number of the late, war time expedient features. Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, stamped and braised mid and front barrel bands (with the bayonet lug on the front band), "eagle/280" and "eagle/37" acceptance marks on the receiver, stamped "byf" code Mauser manufactured trigger guard assembly, matching numbered milled floorplate, and matching numbers on the bolt handle, shroud, and safety lever. Laminated pistol grip stock with "eagle/H" stamp on the right side, and cupped steel buttplate.

Fine with 70% faded original blue finish, flaking on the barrel bands, areas of edge wear, some surface spotting, and mixed gray/brown patina on the floor and buttplates. The reoiled stock is fine with numerous dings, some larger dents, and faint proof. Mechanically excellent.
