This is a WWII M1 Garand rifle manufactured in April 1943 that has been converted into a M1D type sniper rifle by adding a M1D type sniper scope block to a standard M1 Garand rifle barrel. The barrel is currently roll marked, "SA 6535448 1-67", followed by the P and M proof marks. The barrel is fitted with a post-war wide base gas cylinder with the standard blade front and peep rear sights. The internal components are a mix of both WWII Springfield marked and post war parts. It is fitted with an original M84 scope is numbered "28206" on the data plate, with a sliding metal front sun shield and original black rubber eyepiece. It is fitted with an all walnut stock and handguard set with a nice DOD cartouche stamped on the left side, with a circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area. The stock is fitted with an original GI leather cheekpiece that is marked on the right side with "MRT/11-62". It comes with an original T-37 prong type flash hider and a green GI web sling.
