Description:

This is a solid representative example of a 1920 production U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Mark I rifle with "S.A./flaming bomb/2-20" marked on the barrel, fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights with volley notch, "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/MARK I" over the serial number on the receiver, correct Mark I style straight grip stock with a recess below the ejection port for the Pedersen Device, full length handguard, ling, and correct Mark I cut-off and correct Mark I disconnector in the sear. The stock is marked with faint arsenal rebuild inspection marks on the left side and a single circled "P" on the inside of the wrist and has a smooth steel, trapdoor buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. With 75% parkerized finish on barrel, and areas of edge wear. The metal has areas of gray patina overall, 80% dark correct blue finish on the receiver, and small nicks and scratches. The trigger guard is arsenal parkerized The stock is very good as lightly sanded and oiled with faint markings, small dings throughout, and spotting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent. Ready for installation of your rare Pedersen Device!
