Very Scarce Bergmann-Mars Model 1903 Semi-Automatic Pistol

This early Bergmann Model 1903 was produced at the Bergmann facility as evidenced by German "crown/crown/U" proofs, and the lack of any Belgian proofs or Pieper maker's marks as would be found on a later production model. Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, left side of the barrel extension marked "CAL. 9.", serial number on the underside of the barrel, no maker's marks, and "crown/crown/U" proofs on top of the barrel, extension, left side of the frame above the magazine release, and top of the cocking piece. Full blue finish with straw colored hammer and trigger, nitre blue safety lever, and checkered grips with a lanyard loop on the butt. The detachable box magazine is numbered to the gun on the base plate.

ConditionVery fine with 80% original blue finish, areas of edge wear, light spotting, some small surface pits, 85% bright original straw finish visible on the hammer, 60% nitre blue on the safety, and a mostly gray patina on the trigger. The grips are also fine with moderately worn though well-defined checkering and small dings and bruises. Mechanically excellent.
