Description:

The receiver is stamped "G41(M)/1942," with the standard Mauser "Eagle/135" Waffenamt proof on various parts and components. The barrel is fitted with a standard blade front sight with a sheet metal sight cover and a tangent rear sight graduated "1-12" (100-1200 meters). It is fitted with a standard pistol grip walnut stock with a cupped steel buttplate and a short mid-length walnut handguard. This example is currently fitted with a set of early milled, barrel bands and very rare late production stamped trigger housing assembly. Matching serial numbers on the visible parts except the lower barrel band. It is fitted with the all walnut buttstock and handguard. With a WWII German cross-hatched brown leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Good with traces of the blued finish still remaining mostly in the protected areas with the exposed metal surfaces all showing a gray/brown patina finish. The markings are clear and distinct. The stock and handguard both have been sanded removing the proof marks and serial number and they now have a light varnish type finish. Still a very scarce and early WWII German G41 (M) semi-automatic rifle.
