These rifles were made in limited production in 1940/41 and employed a gas trap system mounted on the end of the rifle barrel that was originally designed from the Bang Rifle system which employed a full length operating rod. The right side of the receiver is marked "G-41" with the serial number (1297) followed by "ac 43" the wartime code for the Walther factory. It has the all machined internal parts, stamped barrel bands and trigger guard that is fitted with a laminated stock and black resin handguard. The rear sight base has the small notch on the right side intended for a ZF41 type scope and mount (not included with this rifle). The stock has a double "eagle/359" proofs on the left side below the sling slot and matching serial number "1297" stamped on the underside directly behind the pistol grip. With a cleaning rod, front sight cover and an original leather sling.

Fine with 50% of the blue finish still remaining overall with wear and finish loss on all the high points with the rear action cover having no blue finish, with the front exposed area of the barrel/gas trap and barrel bands having a gray/brown patina finish. The underside of the lower barrel band was cracked and rewelded at some point. Matching visible serial numbers except the replaced nose cap (945). The stock and handguard are both fine with a nice medium brown original oil finish with clear proofs and serial number. The stock does show numerous small pressure dents, gouges and scratches overall from actual field use.
