Inverted "V" blade front and tangent rear sight (graduated 100-2,000 meters), solid milled barrel bands, "eagle" and "eagle/63" firing proofs and acceptance marks, "1936" dated chamber, Mauser factory "s/42" production code, and all matching visible numbers including the bolt components. Matching walnut pistol grip stock with "eagle" and double "eagle/WaA63" acceptance marks on right side and matching numbered flat steel buttplate. Includes replacement Israeli marked leather sling. Missing one (proofed only) trigger guard retention screw.

Exceptionally fine with 85% plus original blue finish, some areas of edge wear, small dings and scratches on the barrel bands, cycling marks on the bolt body and handle, well defined markings, and mixed patina on the trigger guard. The stock is also very fine with scattered small dings and dents throughout, crisp acceptance marks, and mixed brown/gray patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent. One does not find these pre-World War II 98k's in this fine condition very often!
