Blade front and late pattern two-leaf folding rear sight, with the barrel marked "V/ P/ eagle head" on the left side of the chamber, "1863" on top and the American eagle on the bolster. The lock plate is marked "1863" behind the beveled hammer, with the Eagle and Shield motif next to "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" ahead of the hammer. Smooth straight grip stock, with a tulip head straight shank steel ramrod, 3 barrel bands, a J.E. Condict (New York) brown leather sling, "ELA" cartouche on the left flat, a brass "100" tag, most likely from a museum, on the right side of the butt and a smooth metal buttplate. Comes with a "US" marked socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, showing an arsenal bright finish overall with a small amount of spotting and discoloration and a few areas of smooth gray patina. The stock is very fine with a minor crack in the left flat extending from the upper screw, mild dents, scrapes, and scattered dings. The sling is very good. Mechanically excellent.
