Thomas Ketland Sr. was as successful Birmingham gunmaker and sold firearms and other products from 1760 until his death in 1816. T. Ketland & Co. carried on until bankruptcy in 1821. The barrel has a bayonet stud/blade front sight, "144" and ordnance proofs. The lock has the Georgian cipher at center and "T/KETLAND/& Co." at the tail, and the inside is marked "B&S" (Blair & Sutherland).

Very good with mottled gray and brown patina on the lock and barrel, aged patina on the brass furniture, general mild wear, moderate dings and scrapes on the stock, hairline crack at the nose of the lock, and distinct markings. Mechanically fine.
