Description:

The Model 1819 Hall was the first widely issued military breech loading firearm and the first firearm manufactured with totally interchangeable parts. Hall rifles mainly saw use in the Indian Wars of the first half of the 19th century. This one is dated "1837" and is in its original flintlock configuration. It has the standard off-set sights and "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/US/1837" on the breechblock.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, almost as issued, with 80% original brown finish and case colors, smooth patina on most of the balance, minimal minor oxidation, and generally light wear, including some tiny flakes from the very fine, lightly reoiled stock and general minor marks and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
