Manufactured in 1879. The ejectorless Sheriff's Model barrel is stamped with the two-line Colt London address on top and has the desirable acid etched "COLT D.A. 38" panel on the left side. London "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proof and inspection marks are stamped near each of the six cylinder flutes and on the underside of the barrel. The left side of the frame has the three-line patent dates marking, and the left side of the trigger guard is marked "38 CAL." Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, back strap and cylinder ("476"). Finished in high polish blue and case colors and fitted with a checkered walnut grip. The partitioned oak case features a Colt London paper label on the interior of the lid, cartridge block and blue velvet lining. A bore brush and cleaning rod/screwdriver are included.
