Manufactured c. 1820 and signed "-D-EGG-LONDON-" on the Birmingham proofed barrel implying production by Swiss born English gunmaker Durs Egg (1748-1831). The barrel flares to about 1 3/8 inches at the muzzle (gauge above estimated) and is equipped with a folding "snap" bayonet marked "IM" on the base and secured by a sliding catch on the upper tang. The lock is unmarked and has light engraving. The brass furniture has light floral engraving. The stock has a checkered wrist.
